Berrystead Quarterly Community Newsletter

Berrystead's activities leader Julie Hilton has recently won a national competition set by NAPA (National Association for Providers of Activities for the elderly) entitled 'Breath of Fresh Air'.

Julie Hilton's entry was one of the five finalists among 357 other care homes who took up the challenge and at the awarding gala held on 17 September 2008, it was eventually chosen as the winner! This is something Julie rightly deserves for her hard work at Berrystead...

Welcome to berrystead Nursing & residential Home

Welcome to Berrystead Nursing and Residential Care Home. Berrystead is a registered nursing/residential care home providing high quality accommodation and care for 46 service users who are elderly and infirm or physically challenged.

People who inquire about our accomodation are provided with an information pack. All enquiries are made aware of our diversity and anti-discriminatory policies and are encouraged to visit Berrystead before continuing with their application. They may then apply directly for a place at Berrystead.

Applications are followed by an assessment of need made by the local authority social services. This includes an assessment of their financial circumstances, which will determine any funding to which they may then be entitled to claim as a contribution towards the cost of their accomodation and care.
